The expanse of historic downtown Lancaster is alive! Destination Downtown Lancaster (DDL) creates a sense of place by continuously revitalizing downtown Lancaster. Their mission is to inspire engagement across the community by enhancing downtown’s business climate and expanding the historic identity. DDL works to create a vibrant future where all people feel a sense of neighborly belonging and authentic culture


 

The Designated Outdoor Refreshment Areas, or DORAs, provide locations for individuals looking to safely enjoy an adult beverage in the scenic comfort within the stretch of historic downtown.


 

The Lancaster Festival is a two week celebration of art, music and community. The marquee events feature well known performers and the Lancaster Festival Orchestra, a sixty member professional orchestra. The festival attracts thousands of visitors annually.


-250 Plates

250 Plates Community Dinner is an annual event that offers a showcase of locally sourced food and drink, prepared by local establishments. Typically held in early fall, this event organized and hosted by Fairfield County Foundation. All funds raised go to Fairfield County food pantries and Keller Market House/Lancaster Farmer's Market, which runs from the first Saturday in May through the first Saturday in October, rain or shine, on Chestnut Street between Broad and Columbus.
